Not Ready For Your Move |
Ready For Your Move |
Please remember, everything must be packed in boxes or tubs. |
Three to Four Weeks Before Your Move:
Get rid of anything
you aren't bringing with you.
Find out where to dispose of household chemicals such as old paint.
Make a list of everything you're bringing to your new home.
Find out the replacement value of all belongings, for insurance
purposes.
Fill out a change of address form.
Notify friends, family and others of your new address.
Fill out an IRS change of address form.
Get copies of your medical and dental records and veterinary records (if
needed).
Contact the DMV to see what you need to do to change your license.
Notify your kids' schools and have their records transferred to their
new schools.
Return any cable or satellite equipment.
Make hotel and airline reservations (if needed).
Two Weeks Before Your Move:
Return
library books or any other borrowed items.
Make arrangements to disconnect gas, electric and other utilities.
Make arrangements to connect utilities at your new place.
Arrange to have any major appliances prepared for the move.
One Week Before Your Move:
Figure out what
you're bringing with you in the car or plane.
Pack a suitcase and/or well-labeled box with clothes, toiletries, and
items you will need the first day in your new home.
One Day Before Your Move:
Take down
curtains and curtain rods.
Empty, defrost and clean your refrigerator. Make sure it has at least 24
hours to air dry.
Clean and air out your stove.
(Don't forget to check the drawer under the stove!)
Pack your personal belongings you will need available to you.
Gather all
keys to locking items. Put them in a safe place.
Move Out Day:
Strip the beds but leave them intact. We will dismantle them.
Make sure you're at home when the movers arrive.
Make sure everything is ready for the move.
Make sure the driver has the correct delivery address and phone number.
Before you leave, do a final walk through of every room. Check all
closets and cabinets.
Move In Day:
Plan to be
present when the movers arrive.
They will need you to let them know what room each item goes in.
Make sure that your utilities have been turned on.
Confine your pets to be sure they do not get in the way of the movers.
Have your final payment ready for the movers.

FAQ's
If you are moving my packed items, how do they need to be packed?
Everything
should be packed in boxes or tubs not to exceed 50 lbs. This will assure
easy stacking and prevent damage.
If you are moving my refrigerator or freezer, does it need to be empty
and defrosted?
Yes, To
ensure the safety of the movers as well as to prevent damage to the
appliance & prevent spoilage.
How do you handle my furniture?
We blanket and
shrink wrap all Furniture. And our professionals treat your items as if
it was our own.
Can you move me out of state?
No. Our
Operating Authority only allows us to stay within the state of Virginia.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes, we are
fully Licensed & Insured we can provide you with documents upon
request.
Can you pack my house?
Yes, We offer
full service moves. Our professional team will wrap and pack your
household or commercial items.
Boxes and all the supplies are included in this move.
